Located on the eastern side of the sanctuary, "In the Garden" was dedicated on Easter Day 1980. Its dedication plaque reads:
"Dedicated to the Family of Dr. St. von Martinitz by Rodney
and Pauline CogswelI"
The window's portrait of Jesus reflects the chorus of the hymn, "And He walks with me, and He talks with me".
Jesus is portrayed walking in a garden with His hands outstretched to us welcoming us to join Him. Some interesting details about the portrait of Jesus are the blue robe he is wearing and the fact that His eye is not made of glass; it is hand-painted.
Behind Jesus are a twisted tree and a garden wall. Just as in a real stone wall, the various stones have differing colors, shapes, and perspective.
Climbing over the wall are ten red roses. Roses were selected as the hymn says, "I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses." Notice how no two roses are the same; each is in a different stage of flowering from tight bud to just-past-prime blossoming. The same care was taken with the nine tulips in the foreground.
