www.Spiritsform.org The Spiritual Formation Center seeks to help all individuals to find, grow and develop an authentic relationship with God. They offer programs and events in spiritual education and formation. Their purpose is to provide a variety of ways for people to encounter the living God and each other. A life of faith begins with an experience of God. This deepens with the opportunity to reflect with others, and becomes a lived reality when there is community support and accountability. All are welcome. There is a listing of current and upcoming events and opportunities to work one on one with someone who will help you discover your experiences of God. In addition, there are "links" to related bay area spiritual resources.

www.upperroom.org/academy The academy for Spiritual Formation provides an experience of a disciplined Christian community, which emphasizes holistic spirituality – nurturing body, mind and spirit. The program is meant for all those who hunger for deep spiritual experiences, both lay and clergy persons. You can attend the Academy in 5-day or 2-year versions. During the week of May 22-26, 2006, a 5-day Academy will be held at Mercy center in Burlingame.

Since 1940, UMCOR’s mission—providing relief in disaster areas, aiding refugees and confronting the challenge of world hunger and poverty—has helped to heal the hurts of humanity in nearly 100 countries. UMCOR maintains a corps of trained disaster response specialists for quick reinforcement of national efforts and keeps a supply of relief materials in warehouses for dispatch when and where required. It also trains disaster response specialists in their own countries as part of a global ministry by a global church and works in partnership with other international agencies.

www.mercy-center.org Mercy Center offers “matchmaking” to help people find a spiritual director that matches their spiritual type and needs. A staff person listens to your faith story and then gives you three spiritual directors to meet. The center is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and rooted in the Catholic tradition; the Center welcomes people of diverse faiths and backgrounds and is located in the San Francisco Bay area. The website provides links to their programs for work in spiritual direction (such as: Taizé prayer, meditation, body therapies, centering prayer, Ignatian exercises, men's spirituality, 12-Step Spirituality, conferences, retreats and training programs, and speakers).
